Burning House Press are excited to welcome ADRIANNA ROBERTSON as our FEBRUARY 2019 guest editor! As of today Adrianna will take over editorship of Burning House Press online for the full month of February.
Submissions for Adrianna are open from today – 1st February and will remain open until 22nd February.
Adrianna’s theme/s for the month are as follows
The Mind As Prison & Asylum
I am interested in work that explores the notion that the mind can create complex and contradictory spaces for us. On one hand, our mind can be dangerous and debilitating.
On the other hand, it can provide a space of safety and protection in a fraught world.
Please send me your best and most exciting work that considers the nuanced mind and the way it can be a source of destruction and/or refuge.
“My own brain is to me the most unaccountable of machinery–always buzzing, humming, soaring roaring diving, and then buried in mud.”
ADRIANNA ROBERTSON received her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. Her poems have appeared in The American Journal of Poetry and The Arsonist Magazine, as well as on the Burning House Press website. She assisted poet Cynthia Cruz with Other Musics, an anthology of Latina poetry, forthcoming from University of Oklahoma Press in spring of 2019. She and Cynthia are also at work on an anthology of poetry about eating distress and disorders. She teaches at The Ursuline School in New York and lives in Connecticut with her family.
