People Disappearing into Walls
I live with
people who
disappear
into walls
Always
never saying
a word
rarely leaving
evidence of
their existence
Just the persistent
silence
that echoes
across the hall
Why really
bother
living
at all?
I ask to
no one
in particular
How peculiar
and lonely
feeling like
you’re
not here
when you are
feeling like
I’m the only
one
who cares
feeling like
I’m talking to
thin
air
Where are you
ghost-like residents
who claim
they live here?
No where
to be
seen
at
all
