YANINA’S theme/s for the month are as follows

ALTERED STATES

“Today I experienced a sensation of intense movement backward in time towards previous centuries.”

– Isabelle Eberhardt

“Yesterday, however, I lost my human setup for hours and hours. If I have the courage, I’ll let myself stay lost.”

– Clarice Lispector

“Time no longer exists. That’s what it did to me in 1948 and 1492.”

– Hélène Cixous

Time dilations // Spatial entanglements // Perceptual fluctuations // Transient perturbations of matter // Mnemonic vertigo // Hypnagogic lapses // Haptic raptures // Virtual drifts // Mind-altering daydreams // Cosmic reveries

Filter reality from an unexpected angle.

Rattle the hold of the familiar. Play with perceptual boundaries.

Tune in to a different cognitive channel. Shift your subjectivity—ride your wild ipse.

Have an ecstatic fit on the page. Speak in tongues, speak in colors if you must.

Compose a synesthetic score. Employ asemic signs.

Turn the Dreamachine on. Follow the white rabbit.

Experience memory recall via pink beam or madeleine…

Tell me what you see. Tell me how you see. With what eyes?

Experiment with form and content. Give me words. Give me art, sound, still and moving images. Give me profane illuminations. Give me all types of hybrid works.

“Daydream, which is to thought as the nebula is to the star, borders on sleep, and is concerned with it as its final frontier. An atmosphere inhabited by living transparencies: there’s a beginning to the unknown. But beyond it the Possible opens out, immense. Other beings, other facts, are there.” -Victor Hugo

“No need for opium. Everything is a drug for the man who chooses to live on the other side.” -Henri Michaux
