Bill Moran (Good Ghost Bill) is a poet, performer and writer from Austin, Texas – and Bill was in Nottingham to perform for us at Speech Therapy whilst on his recent European tour back in May.
Bill not only performed a killer headline set at Speech Therapy, but he also came into the weekly creative writing workshop I facilitate for people in addiction recovery – the Do Or Die Poets – where Bill delivered us a thought-provoking emotion-inducing mindheart-expanding poetry workshop – and also performed for us at Sobar Social, a monthly alcohol-free event for the recovery community.
It was my great privilege to spend quality time with this fantastic poet and top quality person.
If you get a chance you have to pick up a copy of Bill’s first collection, Oh God Get Out Get Out, published by the mighty Write Bloody books in the US.
Check out the video footage of Bill’s Speech Therapy performance – a wonderful performance, harnessing the power of sound, silence, movement and stillness, leading you to that place where the art of articulacy meets the trauma of inarticulacy. Or rather, Poetry.
