The Polar Express (2004)
now i believe
in animated snow
globes warped
with human
yearning
hidden
behind design
fantasy
computer code
magic
silk
voices threading
harmonious faith
& love
& everything
i never feel
on Christmas day
but can find
later
as the calendar
flips
& my world
becomes strange
again. i wish
my puppet
strings
never tangled.
i wish my gifts
never
got lost.
i wish i never
doubted
the existence
of impossible
tomorrows.
